FAQs

Who is the programme for?

1

This programme is for anyone who performs or competes and wants to train the mental side of their sport. It’s built around the skills that matter regardless of discipline, managing nerves and arousal, building genuine confidence, staying focused on what you can control, and recovering quickly when things don’t go to plan. At the moment it has been written specifically ski instructors coming through their exams, alpine ski racers and sailors, with a generic version covering any other sport. But versions for other sports are coming soon.

I’m just starting to be competitive in my chosen sport — will this be too high level for me?

2

Not at all, if anything, this is the best time to start. The mental skills in this programme are foundations that most athletes never get taught explicitly, at any stage. The programme is structured to build progressively from the basics, so there’s nothing here that assumes prior experience.

I’m working towards international competitions — is this too low level for me?

3

No, these are exactly the skills that elite performers keep coming back to. Controlling the controllables, managing arousal, confidence, focus, visualisation and resilience aren’t things you master once and move past, they are what the best competitors in the world keep working at throughout their careers. This programme gives you that same foundation to build on and return to.

Will I still need a coach if I use this programme?

4

Yes. This programme is about your mental game, not your technique or tactics. It is designed to work alongside your coaching, not replace it. Think of it as the mental training complement to the technical and physical coaching you’re already getting, the same way a strength programme complements rather than replaces your on-snow or on-water sessions.

How long / how many hours is the programme?

5

There’s over an hour of video and audio content built into the programme, spread across the modules, but it’s not designed to be watched in one sitting. Each module is meant to be worked through at your own pace, watching, reflecting, and writing your own answers in the journal exercises. It is designed to work alongside your training rather than adding a big extra time commitment on top of it.
